Archibald Smetters D. Galbraith papers, 1902-1909.

Dr. Archibald D. "Doc" Galbraith was a prominent dentist in Butte and Anaconda, Montana. This collection consists of 13 letters (1905-1909) written to him by Willam A. Clark, Jr., concerning horse breeding and racing. Also included in the collection is a copy of the by-laws (n.d.) for the Gentlemen's Driving Club of Chicago, and a newspaper clipping announcing the marriage of Dr. Galbraith to Gertrude Smith (1902). This collection consists of 13 letters (1905-1909) written by William A. Clark, Jr. to Dr. Archibald D. "Doc" Galbraith, of Butte, Montana, concerning horse breeding and racing. Dr. Archibald D. "Doc" Galbraith was born in Chattsworth, Ontario, in 1876, the son of John and Elizabeth (Ross) Galbraith. He graduated from McGill Dental College, and immigrated to Butte, Montana, where he was naturalized as a United States citizen. In 1902 he married Gertrude Amelia Smith, who was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on November 28, 1874. Dr. Galbraith was a friend of William A. Clark, Jr., the son of the U.S. Senator and "Copper King", William A. Clark, Sr. ...
